Mother-Child Home in Lititz, PA

Acceptance Criteria:
- A young woman must be under the age of 18; she may turn 18 during her stay at HOHC as long as a plan is in place for her to move to different housing.
- The young lady must be unmarried.
- Young lady must be the parent of one or two children (Mother / Child Home) OR
- Young lady must be pregnant in her first or second trimester; a young woman in her third trimester may be admitted after careful consideration (Maternity Home).
- Young woman must be drug and alcohol free (including tobacco).
- A young woman with a history or pattern of the following will be admitted only with careful consideration: severe emotional problems, stealing, violent behavior, running away or needing psychotropic medications.
- There are no geographical limitations.
- HOHC is a voluntary program; therefore, the woman must be willing to come and follow all guidelines.
- Legal guardian/parents must consent to placement of the young woman.
- HOHC does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, religion or national origin.
- House of His Creation is an evangelical Christian program. A young woman will have the opportunity to participate in the spiritual program.
Intake Procedure:
- A referral is made to office of HOHC (717.442.4890 or 1-877 4 MYCHILD). Referral for admission can be made by any interested party.
- The HOHC social worker conducts a short phone screening with the interested party.
- An intake interview is scheduled to take place at the appropriate Home. If there are extenuating circumstances (incarceration, distance, etc.), a visit may be made by HOHC staff or a phone interview may be done.
- An interview is completed with House of His Creation staff.
- The packet of paperwork necessary for admission will be given at the interview.
- Open spaces will not be saved until the completed paperwork is received at the main office. Paperwork can be sent via mail or fax (client must bring originals at time of admission).
- If accepted, HOHC staff will call the young lady and her family with a date for admission.
- The Executive Director reserves the right to make the final decision concerning the admission of any young lady.
